A discussion of an ill-considered remark set me to thinking that it is only when we weight things thoroughly that we become aware of the many points-of-meaning in our lives. Only when we take time to reason things through do we begin to appreciate the powers and qualities and nature of reflection, of thought, of character.

Texture of Thoughtfulness

When we discover strengths of character,
through awareness of myriad
personal meanings and potentialities,
we come to appreciate
textures of thoughtfulness.

Then we will realize the ethical threads
that are the sacred nature we seek
tangled within life's maze.
These threads are etched
on our deepest self.
