Most people help one another freely, willingly, to the tune of countless millions of dollars and unknown thousands of hours. The natural giving of oneself to others--this innate kindness, the highest good that flows from somewhere deep within--it seems to me is a hallmark of the natural human decency.

In the long run we know that our Memorial will be marked by our service. Giving serving, sharing, cooperating is what creates our personal light, what makes these touchstone events shine so brilliantly.

Sunlight of Beauty

Upon opening to the World's touch
and offering the highest service
the sum of our lives
will be judged by these deeds.
Making beneficence a touchstone
is the sunlight of beauty.

Noble gains come by sharing,
by helping others,
by assisting through initiative
with consideration, with excellence of character.
Righteousness is self-illuminating;
virtue and contentment brothers.
In these lie the perfection of wisdom.

The greatest serve quietly,
expecting neither thanks or recompense.
Let our tribute be that we always treated others
to the greatest degree possible.
Through giving discover that in sacrificing,
there is no sacrifice, just reward.
