If we are to act
with tolerance and empathy,
loving and caring for others;
if we are to help them stand, to endure
through sufferings and joys—
first we must guard ourselves
with eagle eyes.
The mind-set of consideration cautions:
If we weaken or slip and fall,
if we lose our balance and our way,
our burdens will then weigh upon others.
Uncommon-sense taps us on the shoulder:
our first responsibilties are our own.
