It's broadly accepted that everything on this planet is interdependent. From this stem the great wisdoms of kindness and love, and as Anais Nis wrote, "the highest form of living."

Kindness and love have a symbiotic relationship that makes life worthwhile. Uniting kindness and empathy helps us grasp our natural interdependence. When these work with the innate desire of cooperation, the yield is the soul's harvest. When these are missing in any form, their absence is painful.

Grasping the Scope

Kindness, love, cooperation--
all spring from the same source,
blossoms of an evolved heart.

Kindness infuses
the light of understanding,
and by its union with empathy we grasp
the scope of others' sufferings and joys.

Interdependence twines like ivy 'round an ash:
the flowering gift of kindness and love
laboring together
in the fields of cooperation
yield the harvest of the soul's desire.
