Among the engineers and programmers I've known, most habitually strive to keep their skills up to date and usually learn new things. By habit, through the brute-force act of doing people hone whatever they are trying to excel at. Whether it is a passion to learn a new language or to become a better person, it is done by skillful repetition. It demands a patient dedication; that's the just the price of excellence.

Reaching the Heights

When we let our soul's passions reign,
excellence begins to govern
as we stride this winding path.

Strength and courage are exhilarated
by the chaos of challenge,
ennobled by accomplishment.
Excellence wraps itself in the glow of quality.
Tracking the middle way sees us through
the brocade of tasks to master a select few.

Bit by bit we approach
the zenith of the exceptional
by reaching toward the heights.
