The way I see it, there is much we can be grateful for; or we can sense the other edge of our reality and complain and feel bitter and unsatisfied and lost. Of course it is true that some people turn out to be more fortunate than others--or less so. But that does not change the fact that all have the same opportunity of either being grateful for the way that life has graced them ... or turn away from the light and swear at how destiny has treated them. Pausing along this trek, as sacred depths turn soulward, we sing a silence born of thanksgiving. Our grace of gratitude stems from an interior joy, from being aware of sorrows and happiness. Gratitude unlocks the richness of life. It remembers thanks we owe, wipes away the dust of confusion, and turns problems into blessings. Thankful for gifts of sunlight and shadow, we warm. Grateful spirits understand happiness; thanksgiving's art is gratitude in action. |
